PROSE

Everlasting Arms

Child of God, remember always, even when you are at your worst and lowest, that wrapped around you are the "everlasting arms" of Christ's great work of atonement. Even if you should descend into the deep, you cannot fall so low as to "the uttermost;" and it is even to the uttermost that He rescues us. Please don't ever forget that the covenant grace of an ever faithful God will always be there to encircle you.

This assurance is a comfort to any "weary but" "earnest worker" in the service of God. It implies a promise of strength for each day, grace for each need, and power for each duty. And, further, "when death comes," the promise shall still hold well. When we stand in the midst of Jordan, we shall be able to say with David, "I will fear no evil, for thou art with me."

All through life, and even at its close, we shall be upheld by "everlasting arms" -- arms that never lose their strength, for "the everlasting God fainteh not."

POETRY

Who Shall Separate Us from the Love of Christ?

He that spared not His own Son

But delivered Him up for us all

Has forgiven, yea, forgotten

A life never again to be recalled.

Now we are more than conquerors

Through Him who loved us so

Neither things present, or things to come

Nothing high, no, nothing low...

shall ever separate us from the love of God

Which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
